Directed over 150 Special Assistance Team members assisting survivors and victims’ families; coordinated activities of accident scene resources with the TEC and the American Airlines* Command Center; and liaised with Corporate Airlines to ensure a consistent and unified response.
* This was one of the first instances where marketing partners collaborated on a major accident response. American Airlines provided both the Telephone Enquiry Center (TEC) and Special Assistance Team (SAT) functions while Corporate Airlines representatives handled tasks such as assisting the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) with the investigation.
